Fine Gardener - Full-time

We’re seeking a Fine Gardener who is passionate about plants and committed to continual learning, particularly in plant identification, native plant communities, and pollinator-friendly gardening. This role is ideal for an individual who sees gardening as a craft and a calling, and who wants to play a part in the long-term health and evolution of dynamic, ecologically rich gardens.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain gardens throughout the season using sustainable, ecologically sound practices

  • Perform tasks such as weeding, deadheading, staking, leaf mulching, and edging.

  • Learn to hand-prune a variety of shrubs through training and plant ID

  • Install and care for annual, cutting, and vegetable gardens for select clients; if decor and floral arrangements are part of your DNA, let us know!

  • Learn to identify a wide range of native and ornamental plants

  • Support pollinator health and biodiversity through thoughtful plant management

  • Collaborate with the Lead Gardener and team to elevate garden aesthetics and performance

  • Use mobile tools for field information and scheduling

  • Uphold safety protocols, company standards, and understand company processes


What We’re Looking For

  • A strong interest in native plants, pollinators, and ecological gardening methods

  • Curiosity and motivation to deepen your knowledge of plant ID and garden systems

  • Field experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related discipline (or willingness to learn)

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable

  • Ability to use hand tools and light equipment

  • Eagerness to learn both traditional horticultural practices and ecological approaches

  • A collaborative attitude and commitment to quality outcomes

  • Opportunity to grow into a Lead Gardener role through mentorship and field experience


Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8-hour shifts

  • Overtime as needed
